soldierprayerAs many of you know, often God will speak the same thing to me over and over again, this is often His way of letting me know what He is saying to me.

I will often hear the same verse from several different sources and I know God is speaking, not only speaking, but also confirming His word to me.

This week, it seemed like every time I listened to preaching, regardless of who it was and how old the teaching was, it was on the same thing…Psalm 91.

All of us are familiar with this Psalm, but I wonder how many of us realize it is referred to as the Soldiers Prayer?

This one Psalm, when applied has the power to ward off attacks of the enemy.

I was listening to a minister talk about one of his friends who was in the Army. His friend was being deployed to lead a group to an area where there was a high casualty rate. This pastor recommended he have his men/women declare this Psalm over them daily, as part of their routine.

They declared this Psalm daily the entire time they were deployed and they had NO causalities, not one.

The team that replaced them in the same area once again had a high causality rate, the only difference was the declaration of the 91st Psalm and their daily trust in God to protect them.

When I look around me these days I see a world I hardly recognize. There is so much anger and hatred and division. It saddens me. All I know to do is to keep praying. And I know, if we choose to stand firm on God’s word, His protection covers us.

I believe God is saying to me, and to many of you, begin to pray this particular Psalm over you each day. Pray it over your family each day, cover them in the word of the living God.

I know this writing is a little different, but I want to share what I feel led to share. Therefore, as I close this writing, I am including Psalm 91, and I am including it in a way you can declare it over yourself, just as I will be declaring it over myself. Stay hidden in Him, for He is your refuge. And remember, it is a soldiers prayer and we are indeed soldiers in this time, lets war with the word of God.

“I dwell in the secret place of the Most High, I abide daily under the shadow of the Almighty. I say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress. He is My God, in Him I will trust. He shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from perilous pestilence. He shall cover me with His feathers and under His wings, I take refuge. His truth is my shield and my buckler. I am not afraid of the terror by night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand, but it shall not come near me, only with my eyes shall I look and see the reward of the wicked. Because I have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High my dwelling place, no evil shall befall me and no plague shall come near my dwelling. For He has given His angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways. In their hands they bear me up lest I dash my foot against a stone. I tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent I shall trample underfoot. Because I have set my love upon God, He shall deliver me. He will set me on high because I know His name. I call upon Him and He answers me. He will be with me in times of trouble. He will deliver me and honor me. With long life He satisfies me and shows me His salvation.” Psalm 91
