The Value of Prophetic Words

“Is your breakthrough or prosperity tied to a word you didn’t give value to?”

I heard this statement several months ago while listening to a teaching on breakthrough. It has stayed in my heart and I think of it often.

I thought of it just yesterday while I was pondering the week I had.

You may recall, at the beginning of the year, Kenneth Copeland gave a word for 2019. The word was; this is the year of abundant harvest. When we hear words like that, we have a choice. We can choose to believe it or choose to toss it aside.

We have the opportunity to think… “well, I heard that same type thing last year, nothing changed.”

This year, when I heard that word, I made a firm decision to hope against hope, as Abraham did. I decided to give value to the word of prophecy. I have continued to declare this over me, my family and my faithful partners. When checks come in the mail, I lay hands on them and declare an abundant harvest for that giver. I do the same for online donations. I am calling it in for you and for me.

As I looked back yesterday, I realized some things. I am seeing abundant harvest. Perhaps not the way you would think. But I am seeing it.

As many of you know, I garden and can goods for winter. It’s something I enjoy. Year after year I have purchased my veggies to can…but not this year. This year it has come to me in abundance. I literally have more than I know where to store. Daily someone is calling me asking if I want this or that. Things I have not been able to find in years past, are coming to me.

Two members of my family have given me free reign in their garden. “Go get whatever you want” they say. This has not happened before. I also have a niece who said she had grapes, peaches and apples on her property if we wanted to pick them and can them. Grapes are something I have wanted to do for several years. Peaches and apples are other things I normally purchase to can.

It is coming in abundance!

As I thought on all this, I realized something else. The seeds I am sowing are also reaping an abundant harvest. Let me explain.

I had been asked to make some pickles for my Mom’s new husband. They brought me the cucumbers and I started to work. Throughout the process I realized they were a couple jars short of having enough jars for pickles. I went to my garage and got two jars and finished their pickles. I didn’t even say anything to them about the jars. Nevertheless, two days later, Mom called and said, “I am headed your way, are you home?” I told her I was.

When she came in the door, she brought me five dozen jars from her husband. He had pulled them out of his canning room and sent them to me. As I put them away, I realized the two jars I had sown days before had reaped a great harvest…and a quick one. What I didn’t realize until I was putting them away was that I was almost out of that size jar and would have had to purchase more…God saw my need before I knew I had it and He provided. How awesome is that!

I am seeing abundant harvest. My question to you today is this… “is there a prophetic word or promise in your heart that you have let go of? One that you want to believe but have lost hope for?” If so, get that word out and put it before your eyes. Do like I did. Give value to that word. Even though you may have heard it before, cast your net of hope one more time. Even if you have already cast your net one more time. Hope against hope. Believe in the power of the word and war with that word. You will be so glad you did. I know I am.

Meditate on this:
Timothy, my child, I entrust you with this command in keeping with the previous prophecies about you, so that by them you may fight the good fight. 1 Timothy 1:18
