The Voice of Truth

It was early morning and I had the same alert in my spirit that I went to bed with.

It often happens at this time of year; I can feel the increase of activity in the spirit. Before I even finished my shower, I had several texts from friends about the same thing. They were each telling me, in their own words, they were on alert in the spirit.

I knew it would be a day of prayer.

Each Monday morning, we send out an audio prayer to our current partners. Today, I felt led to send an additional prayer covering them and their families for the day, as well as our nation.

After completing that task, I walked down the hall and heard the Lord speak. It was a familiar voice.

It was John 10:27; My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

I love how the Amplified says it; The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.

That’s what was happening. His sheep, those that truly belong to Him, were hearing and listening to His voice. And they were following Him.

I thank God for that voice of truth.

I want to encourage you today to listen for the voice of God. Listen for that still small voice. Stay alert to changes in the spiritual atmosphere.

I am certainly not saying to be in fear. Fear is not of God. God warns us, alerts us, so that we are aware of our surroundings. He lets us know what is going on, so we know how to pray. Not to cause fear, but awareness.

His sheep know His voice and they follow Him.

Me and my friends could have brushed it off. We could have said, “we must be tired, we’re imagining things.” But we did not. We heard His voice and followed it.

I felt led to pray over our partners, our nation and the children around the world. I obeyed. I am sure they also obeyed what the spirit of God led them to do.

If we listen and obey, no weapon formed against us or our family will prosper. If we listen and obey, God will take what the enemy meant for harm and turn it for our good.

The facts of what is going on around us is not our guide. The word of God is our guide. The voice of truth is our guide. He is that voice of truth. Our job is to listen. To be sensitive to the spirit of God. To listen and to follow.

Friends, don’t allow the enemy to bring fear. Instead, allow God to bring peace and guidance. Listen for His voice. Listen for the voice of truth. Listen and follow. In that place, you are safe in Him.

Meditate on this:
Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Psalm 25:4-5
