The Word Above All
by Kim Potter

Last week, as you already know, God continually spoke to me about establishing ourselves in peace and maintaining a life of peace. After we dealt with peace for a few days, God began to talk to me about the importance of being grounded in the word of God. One thing is for certain, God wants us grounded and established, immovable in all circumstances. That’s a good plan, don’t you think?

As I was meditating on the importance of the word of God I remembered the scripture in which the word talked about the power of the name of Jesus. Philippians 2:10 says; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth and things under the earth.

Wow, that is a pretty powerful statement! That means poverty must bow at the name of Jesus. Lack must bow at the name of Jesus. Sickness and disease must bow at the name of Jesus – everything MUST bow when the name of Jesus is enforced.

Then we see in Psalm 138:2 the word of God says; for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Again, this is a powerful statement, if at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and then He has magnified His word above His name…that is a powerful force. And that is what I want you to see today.

The word of God is a powerful force. The word of God is the most powerful force we have. If we will apply the word of God to our circumstances, and continue to apply the word of God without fail, without speaking against that word, something is going to change and that something will line up with the word of God. I have seen this happen over and over again.

I have always loved what Kenneth Copeland says; One word for God changes things. And it does. If you hear God give you a word or a scripture about your situation and you begin to apply that word to your situation, the situation will change, why? It can’t stand up against the word of God, it will bow.
God created the entire earth with words. You can do that same thing.

Worship is great! I love to worship. Praise is wonderful. Gathering together to pray is powerful and I love that too. Yet the thing we need to be grounded in and remain grounded in is the word of the Living God. Are you grounded in His word today?

I don’t know what your situation is…but I do know the word of God has an answer for it. Find the answer and begin to decree and declare the word of God over your situation. Job 22:28 says; we shall decree a thing and it shall be established unto us.

Friends, there are some powerful promises in the word of God. Today, dust off your bible, get out your Strong’s concordance and begin to establish yourself in the word of God – stay in the word until you become rooted and grounded – immovable in His word – that’s what He wants for you and that is what we are praying for you this season.
