I woke up to a text from a friend. She was talking about the prayer initiative we were beginning that day. To pray for our leaders and our nation.
As I read her text, the Lord spoke to me and said, “where there is unity, there is a commanded blessing of life evermore.”
I am familiar with the scripture He was speaking of. It is found in Psalm 133.
A Song of Ascents. Of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing– Life forevermore.
In this passage of scriptures, the word life is defined as; to live, have life, remain alive, sustain life, live prosperously, be quickened, be alive, be restored to life or health.
This description calls to mind the scripture the Lord gave me this year from Jeremiah 30:17.
For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord.
The word evermore is defined as, long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, and perpetual.
Unity is defined as, union, unitedness, together, altogether, and all together.
So, we see from these scriptures there is great blessing when we come together as one voice. In unity, all saying and praying the same thing. The blessing is restoration, prosperous life, being restored to life and being sustained.
Unity is vital in prayer. And it is vital in the body of Christ.
Division in our country is at an all time high. However, that is not the way of God. It is time HIS church come into unity with one another. You may ask, how can we do that? It is quite simple really.
If we come into agreement, total agreement with His word, we will be in unity with one another. If we come into unity with God, we would easily be in unity with one another.
Remember, a house divided cannot stand.
Jesus said in Matthew 12:25, But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.”
I see a great deal of this in the Body of Christ…a house divided against itself. United we stand. Divided we fall. It is a truth in the word of God.
Friends, it is past time for us to come into a place of unity in the household of God. It is time for us to unite completely with His word and His way of doing things. If we all do that, there would be tremendous unity.
With that unity would come the blessings of Psalm 133. A prosperous life. A restored life.
Today I will leave you with this same scripture from the Passion Translation…For from this realm of sweet harmony God will release his eternal blessing, the promise of life evermore.
May we unite as one. One with God. One with one another.
May our God release His eternal blessing on each of us, the promise of life evermore.
“You are the unsinkable ship as long as you stay in God.” KP
