There is something I have been mulling over in my mind for days.
It started with seven of my favorite words…
On earth as it is in heaven. (Mt. 6:10)
As I studied this scripture it led me to more scriptures.
In this chapter of Matthew, Jesus told us how to pray. It ended with these words.
Your will be done – On earth as it is in heaven.
I want you to think about this for a moment. Jesus desires we stand in faith for things to be here on earth, as they are in heaven.
That tells me if it isn’t in heaven, it shouldn’t be in our life. There is no sickness or disease in heaven. No mental issues. No fear. No anxiety. No trauma. No lack.
Therefore, I often pray in this manner; “God, there is no ________ in heaven, therefore according to Your word, let it be in my life as it is in heaven.”
As I continued to study, I came across a couple times that Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God has come upon you.”
But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. (Mt. 12:28)
And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ (Luke 10:9)
Let’s look back at Matthew 6, verse 9 says;
In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
When God’s will was done on the earth, the Kingdom had come upon that person. When God’s will is done in our life – again, His Kingdom has come upon us.
We do not have to wait until we get to heaven to see His will done.
Yes, it’s true, the Kingdom of God is within us, however, I believe it can also come upon us as His will is accomplished in the earth. When His Kingdom comes, according to the Word of God, His will is done.
My question for you today is this; is there any area of your life that does not line up with what is in heaven? Remember, there is no sickness, no disease, no lack, no weakness, no anger, hate or violence.
Is everything in your life as it is in heaven? If not, begin to pray for His Kingdom to manifest in your life – for His will to be done in your life. Don’t not settle for anything less than all heaven offers. On earth as it is in heaven – that is what belongs to you and I – let’s lay hold of it this year.
Today I will leave you with Matthew 6:9-11 from the Passion Translation.
Our Beloved Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the center on which our lives turn. Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is in heaven. We acknowledge you as our Provider of all we need each day.
Meditate on this!
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1
