In furthering my study on the financial blessings of the Lord I want to share one more thing with you this week. Let’s look at the book of Haggai. I am so excited about this in my spirit, I hope it blesses you too!

In the second year of King Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying, “Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, saying: ‘This people says, The time has not come, the time that the Lord’s house should be built.’

Then the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying, Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins? Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways!

“You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.” Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Consider your ways! Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the Lord. “You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says the Lord of hosts. “Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house. Therefore the heavens above you withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit. For I called for a drought on the land and the mountains, on the grain and the new wine and the oil, on whatever the ground brings forth, on men and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands.”
Have any of you felt this way? Have you sown much and brought in little? Have you eaten but are never satisfied? Have you drank but are still thirsty? Have you been cold? Have you worked and worked only to feel like you have your money in a bag with holes in it? I know I have felt this way before.

As I studied this passage today I felt a strong urging of the Lord telling me ‘it is TIME to build My church, My house!’

God is saying, we need to build His house first. It is time to seek God and ask Him what He wants you to help build. It may be a church, it may be a ministry, whatever it is it is time to get about the Father’s business and help Him build it.

This was so heavy on my spirit today that I called several ministers I know who have been a blessing to me and said ‘I want to help you build your ministry, what can I do?’
Now, you may think you can’t help, that you don’t even have enough for yourself, but that is not true, as we come together in unity to build the House of the Lord – HIS CHURCH, our little, joined together will get this thing done. Today is the day to sow your seed of building his house, whatever that means to you…but He doesn’t stop there.

If you read on in the book of Haggai, after the people of God begin to work on his house, He says; ‘Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid-consider it: Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day I will bless you.’

Do you see what God is saying? He is saying ‘you haven’t even sowed the seed yet, it’s not yet time for the fruit to yield its crop but nevertheless, from this day forth I will bless you, simply because you made a decision to help me build my house.’

I saw this principle in my life this very week. I was spending time with God Monday morning and made some fresh commitments to God concerning some things with finances and before I could turn around, He had blessed me with new ways of outreach for the ministry – I purposed in my heart to help him build his house, whatever that meant and whatever he led me to do, and before I could get up from my chair, he blessed me with something I had been praying for. You can’t out-give God and you can’t out-do God, it simply won’t happen.

Friends, those with ears to hear, it is time to build his house….will you be a part?
