Time to Clean House…

Time to Clean House…

Today, I want to share a timely word with you from one of our readers. It needs nothing added. Please read and apply…
Hey Kim,
I wanted to share this with you today as it brought great excitement to my spirit during my time with God today. I asked Him how he would have me prepare my heart for Passover (after reading Chuck Pierce/Dutch Sheets interview from the Elijah List). Right away I heard, “Clear out the clutter.”
I know many of us have been using this time we have right now to reorganize areas of our homes decluttering our environment. However, I was curious as to the definition of the word “clutter”. So, in true Kim Potter fashion, I looked up the definition of the word. 🙂
Clutter: “to fill or cover with scattered or disordered things that impede movement or reduce effectiveness.” Wow!
He continued, “Clear out the clutter in your home; clear out the clutter in your heart (soul); clear out the clutter in your spirit.”
As I began meditating on his instruction, he brought to my attention Hebrews 12:1 (TPT).
“As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So, we must let go of every wound (arrow tip) that has pierced us and the sin that we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.”
Hebrews goes on to talk about becoming “worn down and caving in under life’s pressures” in verse 3 and choosing “peace over competition” in verse 14.
In Mark 4:19 there is additional insight. “…but they allow the cares of this life and the seduction of wealth and the desires for other things to crowd out and choke the word so that it produces nothing.” A perfect picture of a cluttered soul/spirit!
Lastly, in Isaiah 41:10, “Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God. I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation. I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.”

Therefore, in preparing my heart for Passover this year, I will continue to declutter my environment, but I will also ask God to reveal in me:
*         any wounds that need healing
*         any pressures from life that I am allowing to wear me down
*         any areas where I have responded competitively rather than from a  place of peace
*         any areas where the “things” of the world have become more important  than him
*         any areas where I may be operating in fear
These have created clutter in my soul and in my spirit thereby impeding my movement and reducing my effectiveness in Him!
Sorry it is a bit lengthy, but I had to share! I am grateful for this word from him, for his timely instruction!
God bless your day!
Jennifer
