Today I was reminded of a teaching I once wrote about a tipping point.

It was funny to me because I had just heard those words from a friend on Monday.

You see, as I shared on our Partner Call, Tuesday night, our ministry, after many, many months had a breakthrough. When I shared this news with a friend and prayer partner she said ‘your seed of hiring your Mom was your tipping point seed.’ She went on to say, ‘you honored your Mom and now God is honoring your seed.’

She is one of the few people that knew when God told me to hire my Mom. She is also one of the few people who knew that, at that time, there was only enough money coming in each month to cover our current budget.

I obeyed God and I am so glad I did. It made Mom’s life easier and our ministry better. We love having her here and it helps us out every day.

That being said, I lost a few night’s sleep over how it would work. However, that was wasted time because God had a plan all along. The first month she worked, we had enough increase to cover it. The second month, it was a little easier. This is the third month and we had breakthrough AND my friend reminded me that our seed was our tipping point. Praise the Lord.

A couple years ago, I was spending time with God, praying for a partner who needed a financial breakthrough. In the midst of my prayer, the Lord had me sow a seed for the partner I was praying for. I immediately sowed that seed.

A few minutes later I was sitting quietly, thinking about the seed I had sown and how it appeared to be a sacrifice. As I did I thought ‘Okay, God, I have sown another seed, we need a breakthrough.’ The Lord spoke quietly to me and said, ‘there will be a tipping point.’
There WILL BE a tipping point.

No question about it, it will come. Therefore, I knew, breakthrough would come, I didn’t know at the time if my last seed was my tipping point or if my next seed would be my tipping point or if a seed two years later would be the tipping point. However, I knew there would be a tipping point.

In 2006 Malcolm Gladwell published a book entitled “The Tipping Point.” His thought was that the spread of an idea, product or disease is the result of repeated behaviors that builds an accumulative effect to a critical mass. When that “tipping point” is reached, a breakthrough occurs much like the collapse of a dam, turning a small trickle into a flood.

This applies spiritually as well. There are tipping points in the realm of the Spirit when God releases breakthroughs. Breakthroughs are always linked to prayer, fasting or giving. (Matthew 6)

One of the names of God is Baal-Perazim, the Lord who breaks through.

David said in 1 Chronicles 14:11, ‘God did it! …He used me to burst through my enemies like a raging flood!’

But what about giving, where do we see examples in scripture of that as a tipping point? We can find one in the book of Acts; giving played a critical role in what might be the greatest tipping point in church history. It was the opening of the door of the Gospel to the Gentiles.

In Acts 10 we see Peter being sent to the home of Cornelius, a Roman Centurion, who, with his entire household, received Jesus and were all baptized in the Holy Spirit. Peter was sent to Cornelius’s house in direct response to Cornelius’s prayer AND giving. When the angel of the Lord appeared to Cornelius he said, Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God. (Acts 10:4)

Our prayers are being heard. Our giving is being seen. There is no doubt about it. And there is no doubt that we will see a tipping point, if we refuse to quit. We WILL. God has spoken it and He does not lie.

The Bible says, ‘don’t grow weary in well doing, for in due season we will reap if we do not faint.’ We only reap if we don’t faint. We reap when we don’t grow weary in well doing. We reap when we don’t give up.

Coincidentally, I recently read an article on tipping points as it refers to business. It said most businesses don’t fail because they can’t be successful. Most businesses fail because someone gives up before they reach their tipping point, their time to begin to reap their reward from the work they have put in. Wow.

I don’t know about you, but I will not miss my reward! I will not quit before my tipping point.

Our ministry reached a tipping point this week and I thank God for that. I am continuing to press in to experience a tipping point in my personal life and in the life of every single partner. I will not quit, I will reap the reward! You WILL REAP THE REWARD. YOUR TIPPING POINT WILL COME NOW! My tipping point will come now!

God has said THERE WILL BE A TIPPING POINT and that is enough for me. I will give and give and pray and pray until I see my bucket tip over and produce a flood where there has been a trickle, how about you?

The God of Breakthrough is watching and listening, breakthrough is imminent. Rest assured of that promise. The time of the tipping point has come!

Prayer for Today: Father I thank you for the breakthrough at the ministry. I give you praise for that. I remind you of each of our partners, they are in covenant with us, they have sown seeds into this time of breakthrough – may their breakthrough come NOW in Jesus name, Lord of the Breakthrough – Breakthrough in every area of their life, now, in Jesus name. Amen.
