I don’t exactly like this phrase but it is what I heard as I was talking to the Lord this morning.

You see, I was trying to do something that had been recommended to me, however, as I was doing it, I became frustrated with the process and it was taking a great deal of my time. Finally, I put it away and thought ‘not today!’

I began to think about it and I realized either it wasn’t what God wanted me doing OR it wasn’t when God wanted me to do it, so I let it be.

That may sound odd to you, but I always depend on what the word of God says about a situation and in this situation a verse kept coming to mind. It is found in Proverbs 10:22 and it says; The blessing of the Lord makes rich and it adds no sorrow with it.

That word ‘sorrow’ is the same word as toil. God’s blessings are gifts, we do not have to toil for them. Don’t get me wrong, we must be diligent to pursue the promises of God. But we do not have to toil and labor.

Jesus said ‘my yoke is easy; my burden is light.’

To toil is labor and hardship. Jesus’ way is easy and light.

Proverbs 16:9 says; A man’s heart plans his ways, but the Lord directs his steps.

I have found in my life that there are times I think I should go a certain way or do a certain thing, these are things I feel in my heart, however, if I will seek the Lord, HE will direct me in the way I should go and His way is always best because His way is a way of peace.

Colossians 3:15 says; Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.

Isaiah 55:12 says; You shall be led forth by peace.

Peace is how God leads, if you don’t have peace in a situation…stop, look and listen and make sure it is GOD that is leading you.

I want to tell you about a blessing in my daughter’s life and how peace led her and there was no toil or labor with it.

As most of you know, Breanne loves animals, especially horses. She had three horses and planned to sell two of them to purchase another horse they could all ride. One which was broke to the point that both kids could safely ride, which was not the case with her two POA’s.

She had not sold the two POA’s yet but a horse a friend had was suddenly on the market for sale. This is a horse that both of her kids had ridden, he is extremely gentle. This horse was more than she had ever spent on a horse but she really wanted him. Keep in mind, she had not sold the two so she didn’t have the cash available when he came up for sale.

She took it to the Lord and prayed and ask God if this horse was for them that He would make a way.

Within two days she had the money for the horse and still hasn’t sold the other two. She and I went and picked him up and took him to her house and he fit right in with the rest of them without any problems.

This was a blessing all the way around and she had absolutely NO TOIL involved.

Now, why do I think this is a big deal? Because I have watched her in the past, she would see something her heart wanted and she would work and work to try to make it happen. She didn’t do that this time, she gave it to the Lord and every little detail of it, and there were many, worked out easily and peacefully. There was no toil involved.

She gave it to God and allowed peace to rule her and she walked in that peace. THAT is a blessing from God.

Friends, I don’t know what situations you have in your life today, but this I do know. If you allow God to lead you HIS WAY, it will be a way of peace and without toil. If you allow Jesus to guide you, His yoke is easy and His burden is light…. His is a way of peace.

Today, I am praying that the peace of God surrounds you and that you are led forth by the peace of God…into the blessings of God.
