I want to share something with you that a friend shared with me about the Titanic; I found it very interesting and insightful.
She told me something that was discovered about the Titanic. Keep in mind, the Titanic was the unsinkable ship. It wasn’t called that for no reason, it was literally unsinkable.
When the captain, or whatever he was called, of the Titanic saw the iceberg, he was frightened and begin to attempt to turn the ship, the iceberg caused a huge hole in the side of the ship. Scientists discovered that if the captain had kept going straight ahead, although it would have caused some damage when it hit the ice, it probably wouldn’t have sunk the ship.
The Bible says in Joshua 1:7; “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.”
Has that ever happened to you? God speaks to you to go in a certain direction and then somewhere along the way, something will happen that puts a big block of ice in your way, before you know it, you have turned left or right and wrecked your ship.
I was talking with another friend about this today and she said ‘If I had been there, guiding the Titanic, I am not so sure that I wouldn’t have become afraid and turned too.’
Fear is usually the reason we turn back or turn to the side. Fear caused the captain of the Titanic to turn and the end result was shipwreck, don’t allow fear to cause shipwreck of your life.
If God has placed you on a certain path or put a certain vision in your life, begin down that path and do not get off the path. Regardless of what gets in your way, just keep moving. Keep moving forward. If you are moving forward you are still going toward the plan and purpose of God.
The enemy may work hard to put things in your path that would make you feel that you need to stop or turn to the right or left, but heed the word of God and do what He says. Just keep moving.
God’s has a flow for your life, His river is always flowing and fresh. Flowing water is never still, it never stops, if it does, it becomes stagnant and things begin to die. Flowing waters produce life everywhere they flow to. Let your life be a life of flowing before God.
Movement is important, but direction is vital too. Movement alone is not everything, movement means nothing if purpose is not fulfilled. God’s purpose for us is to always take us higher in Him. God desires that we grow in Him daily, going from glory to glory to glory. To do that, we must keep moving and we must keep moving with purpose.
You have a purpose and you have a destination, begin your journey and don’t stop moving forward until you reach your destination. Don’t look to the left or to the right, keep your eyes stayed upon Him, He is the author and finisher of your faith. He will make sure that you arrive at your destination. He is leading you even today, follow His voice. Refuse fear. Refuse to be intimidated regardless of what gets in your way, just keep moving forward.
You are the unsinkable ship as long as you stay in God, as long as you are walking with Him, you are unsinkable, He will lead you and guide you every step of the way, follow Him and flow right into His purpose for you.
