Urgent Call! Let Everything that Hath Breath…
Like most of you, I have been mostly home for weeks. I don’t think I have actually been in a store in a few weeks, until today.
Today, I had to go to Lowe’s because I had a leak that needed fixing. While I was out, I ran in a farmer’s market to grab some vegetables.
The way people were behaving shocked me! The atmosphere all over town disturbed me.
It was filled with fear, anxiety and chaos. You could feel it and you couldn’t get away from it. My house is not like that. It is filled with peace and His presence, so this was a culture shock to me.
On the drive home, I knew something had to be done. We MUST CHANGE THE ATMOSPHERE.
I know you may be thinking…how can we do that? Glad you asked.
One man of you shall chase a thousand, for the Lord your God is He who fights for you, as He promised you. Joshua 23:10
I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you. Lev. 26:2-8
And he answered, “Fear not, for they that are with us are more than they that are with them.” 2 Kings 6:16
Together we can do this! There is great power in agreement. We can do this because God is with us! The greater one lives in us, empowering us to change things on the earth.
So, how do we change this atmosphere?
The thing I know that changes atmospheres…every single time is praise. Praise and worship changes atmospheres!
When we praise POWERFUL things happen. When we worship Him, something is loosed, something is released from heaven and comes into the earth.
The power of praise leveled the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6: 20)
The power of praise released Paul and Silas from jail. (Acts 16:25-26)
2 Chronicles 5:11-14 tells us: When the priests came forth from the holy place … and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the LORD saying, “He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,” then the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.
When we praise God, giving Him glory, HIS GLORY FILLS OUR HOUSE – we can praise until His glory fills our nation!
“Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising …And I will glorify the house of My glory” Isaiah 60:1-7
God sent the praiser’s out ahead of the army and the battle was won before it began…it can be the same way today.
Today, I am asking you, PLEASE take 15 minutes of your day for the next week or so and PRAISE GOD. WORSHIP GOD. CHANGE THE ATMOSPHERE…dance before the Lord with all your might. Declare the names of God into the atmosphere – whatever way God leads you to praise, just praise!
We can do this – we can see change. We can see faith replace fear. We can see joy replace anxiety. We can see peace replace chaos. I know we can because God lives in us. And when we praise Him, when we lift Him up, He comes on the scene and everything changes. Are you with me?
