As I read a daily word by Bill Burns today, I began to think about what it really means to ‘walk’ with God.
Before I share my thoughts, allow me to share his word with you today;
You are My children. I love you and I will be with you. I will be with you in every challenge. It is My desire to bring you into that place of perfection in the Holy Spirit where you make the transition from natural to supernatural. It is My desire for you to walk in the supernatural. For, I am going to do great and mighty and wonderful things. And, if you aren’t walking with Me you are not going to see it or receive it. Set yourself to see everything that I am showing you and understand everything I have asked you to do. (Bill Burns)
I do believe there are times and seasons when God is moving yet many believers don’t see it or receive what God is doing in that season. Could it be that they are not walking with Him?
The Bible has a great deal to say about walking with God, here are a few scriptures…
Deuteronomy 5:33 – Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
Micah 6:8 – He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Zechariah 3:7 – Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.
Hebrews 12:1 – Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
Colossians 2:6 – As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him.
Galatians 5:16 – This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Isaiah 30:21 – And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Genesis 17:1 – And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Deuteronomy 8:6 – Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
This word ‘walk’ in the Strong’s Concordance is no surprise, it simply means to walk, to carry or to lead.
To walk with God, therefore, means to walk in the Spirit with Him, to allow Him to lead us or to carry us. I don’t know about you, but I feel God has carried me several times.
Let’s go back to the word from Bill Burns, God said, and, if you aren’t walking with Me you are not going to see it or receive it.
If you walk with someone, you are in step with them. You can’t run ahead of them, and you can’t lag behind them, you must walk as one with them.
I used to go walking with friends for exercise, it only took a few moments before we were precisely in step with one another – in the same manner, the Bible says, ‘how can two walk together unless they are in agreement.’
To walk with God, you must be in agreement with His word and with what He is saying in this hour. You can’t get ahead of Him and you can’t lag behind, if you do, as this word says, you will not see what He is doing in this hour and you will not receive it.
It is my desire for every single one of our partners to see all God is doing in this hour and to receive all He has for them in this season. I want nothing less than that for each of you. And I know that is God’s desire for you as well.
That being said, examine your heart and motives today and make sure you are walking with God. Make sure you are walking in His word, seeing as He sees, saying what He says and doing all He tells you to do…walk with Him. It’s time to get in step with all He is doing! We don’t want to miss a thing! Father, we declare this day, we are walking with You! We will see what You are doing and we will receive all You have for us in this season, in Jesus name.
Today, as the word from Bill said; Set yourself to see everything that I am showing you and understand everything I have asked you to do.
