Last week I rode with Breanne to a nearby city.  We were driving along just fine until Breanne came to a place where one lane ended that she wasn’t prepared for.

As traffic was quickly merging, Breanne exclaimed, “why didn’t they give me a warning?!”

“They did.” I responded.  “Did you not see the sign back there?”

Today I found myself driving on that same road.  I decided to pay attention and see how many warning signs there were before the merging of traffic.  Before the right lane closed.

I counted…one…two…three.  Three signs of warning before the lane ended.  In addition to the three signs there were caution cones lined up everywhere.  I do not know how she missed all those signs.

As I was pondering these facts, the Lord began to speak to me.

He talked to me about how many Christians fail to see signs that are in place for what is ahead.  One sign that came to mind for me was the season we are in on the Jewish calendar.  And the season we are entering next.

We are about to enter the year 5780.  5780 begins the Hebraic decade of Pey!  Pey is linked with our mouth and what we declare.

My question today is, are we seeing the signs of what is ahead?  Are we preparing for the shift taking place?

I am seeing the signs.  I am heeding the warnings of what lies ahead.  I am praying for God to empower me so that my mouth only says what my eyes want to see.

I understand the year I am entering is a year of our mouth – our words.  Therefore, I am watching my words.  I am careful to stay away from negative talk.  I refuse to complain, regardless of what I see or hear.  Why?  I am preparing for the shift ahead.

As I shared with you, Breanne did not heed the signs.  I don’t think she even saw them.  Therefore, she was not prepared when the shift came.

Today, I saw the signs.  Not only did I see the signs, I heeded the signs.  I was ready for the shift.  It was smooth and easy.

It can be smooth and easy for us spiritually as well. If we see and heed the signs of what is ahead.  If we are noting the signs, the shift will be effortless and peaceful.

God did not leave us helpless.  He gave us a helper when He gave us the Holy Spirit.

John 14:26 says; But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

The Holy Spirit leads us, guides us and warns us.  He also tells us what is yet to come.  Isn’t that amazing!

John 16:13 says; But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

Today I want to encourage you to look for the signs of what is ahead.  Heed those signs and get ready for the shift.
