I love Independence Day. I love what it stands for. I love this great nation that I am so blessed to live in. I thank God for America as I continue to have hope and anticipate the third great awakening!

I am thankful for all that America stands for. To quote The American Legion – “There is nothing wrong with America, that cannot be fixed with what is right with America.” – and to this I say AMEN!

I am grateful for the men and women who pioneered this land, who braved the odds and the elements, and escaped religious persecution, to found this nation on the principles of the Word of God.  I am thankful for the men and women – past and present – who serve and protect our country, especially those who have sacrificed their lives so that we might live and live free.

Today, we can look around us and see all that is wrong in our nation, OR we can change our perspective and employ Philippians 4:8 – “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.”

We can choose to think on the fact that we still live in the greatest nation on Earth – a nation where we still have the freedom to worship Jesus and share His gospel. America has taken the call to spread the Gospel seriously as we have taken it to the world in word and in deed. For this I am truly thankful. Don’t let current culture fool you, our nation, was built on biblical principles, and because of that, it became the greatest nation on earth.

As we celebrate our nation’s independence, let us remember who gave us this great land. Let’s give thanks for all that He is currently doing to turn this great nation around and get us back on course. Let’s lift our voices to heaven and exalt Jesus. As we lift up His name, He will draw others to Him. (John 12:32)
