The other day I heard the Lord say ‘don’t allow distractions to cause you to miss THIS APPOINTED TIME.’
I know we always think of distractions as things that don’t even require our attention but I must disagree. Many times, the enemy will send distractions that demand your attention so that your focus is divided. The bible says if we are divided we will receive nothing from the Lord. James 1:6-7 says; For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed . For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
These distractions are sent with a purpose; to divide your attention, to cause you to waver. And while these distractions had gotten my attention, the words God spoke to me re-established my attention. He said this was an appointed time. I know from scripture that things happen during appointed times, that is, if we don’t miss them. And the enemy will do everything in his power to cause us to miss them; thankfully he has no power over us.
I wanted to share this with you today to encourage you to watch out for distractions. If you are in an appointed time in God then the enemy will send distractions to get you off your course, don’t fall for it. Yes, you may have to deal with a few things however, you can do so and keep your mind stayed on God at the same time.
Isaiah 26:3 says; you will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
This scripture is saying…if you keep your mind on God, you will have SHALOM SHALOM; the word perfect is Shalom and the word peace is Shalom. Shalom means completeness, soundness, nothing broken or missing, safety, health, prosperity, peace with God and peace with relationships. It is no wonder that the enemy tries to get our mind on something besides God…anything besides God. He knows the word and he knows if we can keep our mind on God we will have Shalom. And in this scripture God said it twice…it is established.
Today, get your mind back on God. Get it off the distractions or the things that are demanding your attention; get it back on God and watch what he will do.
