Yesterday, I shared about increasing our capacity to receive.  This morning as I pondered on that writing, a thought came to me, “Everyone is preparing for something.”

Even as that thought came to mind, I received an email from a reader.  A portion of it said this.

You mentioned the word, “Capacity”…. Years ago, while praying in the Holy Ghost that word rose up in my spirit…I was led to look up what it meant. Webster says “Capacity” is the ability to receive, absorb or contain…”Filled to capacity”. Adequate mental power to receive and understand, mental ability and capability.

That’s the part of her email that captured my attention.  We are all preparing for something, if not physically, then certainly, mentally.

Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”

Jesus said in Matthew 9:29, “According to your faith let it be to you.”

What we think or believe greatly affects what we experience. What then, are we preparing for?  Some are preparing for disaster.  Some are preparing for the return of Jesus.  Some are preparing for the end times. Others are preparing for a great outpouring of God’s Spirit in the earth.  What are you preparing for?

As I thought about all this, I received another email from a reader.  Here is a portion of his email.

According to your faith let it be to you.

I was excited as I read this morning’s devotion “and God remembered”.  What a timely word.  As encouragement, I am sending this to remind you of a past devotion from you that spoke VOLUMES to us.  It was released 11/1/11 and titled:  “Prepare to Be Fat”.  On the exact day that this was released God spoke a Word of Promise to my wife for the 3rd week in a row!  For three (3) weeks I prayed a prayer, inquiring of the Lord, and each time He answer this prayer the next morning by speaking these words to A.: “The Lord says the rain is coming soon…. a nice steady rain.  A rain of HIS presence but also a rain of HIS Provision.”  God has been speaking LOUDLY thru His prophets that 2022 is a season of God’s presence, His glory, with some emphasis on the month of February.  God is telling us that He has remembered us and that He is coming in great power.  Today’s devotion has captured God’s heart.  Thank you.

Here is that article this reader mentioned in his email; Prepare to be Fat

As many of you know, Bryson, my little grandson is a treasure to me. God often speaks to me through him.  On the other hand, he is a five-year old boy who just as often he says things that are simply funny. One time, a year or so ago, he jumped up in my lap and said, “Nana, you have cracks in your face.” At those times I know there is nothing spiritual, this is just my little fellow making me laugh with his sheer honesty.

However, there have been many times in the past that God has spoken to me through this little boy. I remember one time when I was struggling hard through some challenges, he grabbed my hand and said he had a song for me; he began to sing, “don’t give up, never give up, keep trying, keep trying.”

Prepare to be Fat

Another time I was asking God to tell me what the problem was in a particular situation, this prayer was a silent one just between God and I. After praying this prayer, I went in my living room and Bryson said “Nana, there is a problem, and the problem is you.” I knew God was talking to me and I set about fixing the problem.

Just last week Bryson said something to me that made me laugh until I cried. It wasn’t until the following day that I realized it was actually God speaking to me, once again, through this little boy.

Bryson loves to battle with swords.  H will get us each a shield and a sword, and we battle. I always lose, always. This particular day he wanted to battle, I told him I had to finish something but to get our swords ready and we would battle. He normally will come back, dressed in shield and helmet, sword in hand, and declare “Nana, prepare to battle!”  This time, as always, he came dressed for battle, raised his sword and declared, at the top of his little lungs, “Nana, prepare to be fat!” When those words came flying out of his mouth, he had the funniest look on his face like he couldn’t believe what he just said.  I think he wondered if I would laugh or be upset. I laughed until I cried.

I cannot tell you how many times I thought of this statement over the next twenty-four hours. The next night I felt compelled to listen to a particular teaching, as I began to listen, I was amazed to hear the base scripture from Malachi 4:2, it says.

But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.

Over the next couple days, I heard scripture after scripture about what God calls fat. It is not what we think.

Fat in the Bible means abounding in desirable elements, fertile, productive, rich, having an abundance or amplitude, yielding profit and plenty and having too much. I love the one that says, having too much. I believe God is telling us to prepare to have too much, prepare to yield a profit, prepare for the abundance of God.

God speaks to us in many ways, some are funny, some serious and some are straight from the Word of God. Whatever way He speaks to me He will usually confirm it as He did with this Word. Prepare to be fat. Prepare to abound and prosper. I don’t know exactly what that means for you. I don’t know in which area you need abundance, but whatever it is…prepare for it. Prepare your mind, and your heart to receive it.  Enlarge your capacity to receive. Then prepare in whatever way necessary in the natural.

For those of us who are seeking God, who fear His name, the Sun of Righteousness is arising this day with healing in His wings, healing for our bodies, our marriages, our finances, our hearts…and as He arises, we are going to go forth like fat, stall fed calves. We shall be seen as the people of God who have more than enough, who have too much…God is saying prepare for it and I am preparing…how about you?

I realize this is longer than usual, but I felt it was important.  Today, as you read through this writing, ask yourself… “What am I preparing for?”

Appoint My Days

While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest will not cease. I have seed in the ground. I sow seeds of love, peace, harmony, forgiveness, compassion, and money; and declare that I reap what I sow. I pray to the Lord of Harvest and expect a harvest on every seed sown. I give to the poor, and I know that God will repay me. I sow into the kingdom, for the gospel’s sake, and I expect a hundred-fold return. I am a tither – therefore I walk daily, under an open heaven.  God makes all grace, every favor and earthly blessing come to me in abundance so that I always, under all circumstances, no matter the need, am self-sufficient, I possess enough to require no aid or support and I am fully furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation.
