What is in your house today? Peace? Anger? Strife? Power of God? What atmosphere dominates your home? Your surroundings?
What atmosphere surrounds your children? Is it one that would please God? Or is it one of anger, division, ungodly control and strife?
What exactly rules and reigns in your home? Is it God and His abounding peace and power? Or is it the devil and everything he brings with him?
Yesterday, in my prayer time, God spoke something to me. He said, “When a house becomes a place of prayer, it becomes a place of power.”
I don’t know what is dominating your home today, but I do know this, if it is not God, it can change, through consistent prayer.
If you do not like the atmosphere in your home or in your surroundings, you have the power to change it…if you will pray fervently and consistently.
James 5:16 says, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
Let’s look at this scripture in a few more translations…
“When a house becomes a place of prayer, it becomes a place of power.”
The earnest, heartfelt, continued, prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available, dynamic in its working. (Amp)
The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. (NLT)
For tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer! (TPT)
God has said…. “When our homes become places of prayer – they will become places of power!” I LOVE THAT WORD.
What do you want in YOUR home? Do you want people to walk in your door and feel the tangible presence of God? How about if they walked in your door sick and the power of God hits them and makes them whole? I don’t know about you – but that is what I want in my life and in my home.
That is what I cry out to God for. Yet, I have a part to play in this happening. I must pray. I must fervently and daily.
I also must be diligent to remove all anger, fear, pride, unforgiveness, strife, division and anything else that would hinder the presence of God from ABIDING in my home. I must make it a place where God is pleased to dwell.
I do not want Him visiting me every now and then – No! I want His ABIDING presence in my home and in my life.
Friends, the atmosphere of our homes is up to us. We may feel we can’t change it because other people live there but I am telling you we can. If we seek God and His presence diligently, He will invade our homes. He will invade our family. He will shift the atmosphere. How do I know? Because He said so. “If our homes become places of prayer, they WILL BE places of power.” It is up to us. What dominates our home, is up to us. Let’s change things, starting now!
Meditate on this…
Pray without ceasing. 1 Thess. 5:17
