What’s on your mind today? Stop and be still for just a moment. What thoughts are demanding your attention today?

Is your mind filled with thankfulness to God? Praise? The Word of God? Or is your mind spinning with news from the media? Social media? Or the chaos we see going on in our world today? Are you faith filled or fearful? What are you thinking on today? At this very moment?

I heard a statement the other day. One of those simple, yet profound statements. These few words have caused me to pause and check my thoughts daily.

“You won’t have to watch what you say, if you watch what you think.”

Most of us know the importance of our words. Jesus, Himself said in Mark 11:23; “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

Do we realize, however, that it doesn’t begin in what we say, it starts with what we think.

Luke 6:45 says, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”

What comes out of our mouth, resides first in our heart. It gets into our heart from what we choose to meditate and feed on.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Phil. 4:8

If it is our goal to say only words that line up with what God says, it must begin in our thoughts. It must start with what we choose to meditate on daily.

We simply can’t listen to negative reports hour after hour and expect good things to come out of our mouth – it won’t happen. What goes in will come out.

ONLY WHAT GOES IN.

Therefore, we must choose to do as the Bible states and think on good things. Daily. Hourly. Weekly. Fill our mind with the word of God and only with what God says.

Doing this one thing has so many benefits.

First of all, as the scripture states, we will produce good treasures as we fill our mind and heart with God’s word.

The Bible also tells us that we will be kept in perfect peace as our mind is stayed upon Him. Why? Because we trust Him. When we are feeding on God and His word, our trust and faith in God will be stable and immovable.

Finally, we will have what we say! His word, spoken from our mouth always comes to pass. His word never fails. And if His word is what is coming out of our mouth – we will be a fruitful people. Walking in the blessings of God.

Today, think about what you are thinking about. If it is negative, change it. Fill your mind with His word and His plans for your life. In doing so, you will have great success. We have His word on it.
