In 2022, we entered our third year dealing with Covid19, the pandemic and all that entails. People are weary and frustrated. It is a breeding ground for hopelessness. Some are beginning to question their faith, and their prayers. Many are asking, “why even pray, it’s not working.” Oh, but yes, it is!
Recently God led me to a scripture found in the Old Testament. Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land. And I will set your bounds from the Red Sea to the sea, Philistia, and from the desert to the river. For I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you (Ex 23:31.)
God had delivered the children of Israel from Egypt and was leading them to their Promised Land. God let His people know there would be adversaries along the way. There would be battles to fight. Yet, God promised He would deliver the enemy into their hand. We all know God could have removed every single enemy in a day, we saw Him do just that at the Red Sea, however this time, He did not remove the enemies that way. Instead, He said He would drive them out little by little.
As always, God kept His word, and little by little, every single enemy was driven out and God’s people arrived at the Promised Land.
It is easy to look around and see what is happening in our world or listen to the local media and decide things are getting worse, not better. But we must dig deeper. The truth is – change is happening – good change.
Just this month in my local newspaper I read an article where several of our local politicians are changing their political parties. They have decided they can no longer agree with what the left is doing. Their eyes have been opened to truth.
CEO’s are resigning from their companies in mass numbers. The latest article says it is because of heightened accountability. That greater accountability has come through people demanding full disclosure not only in business but morally as well.
Local school boards are changing as parents have become more and more involved. We are seeing this across every state – and this is a good thing! Parents are taking the time to be informed about what is being taught in our local schools and when it goes against their beliefs they are fighting back. Refusing to be silenced.
We are taking back our nation, little by little.
After God spoke in Exodus 23 telling the people He would drive their enemies out little by little, He confirmed this truth in Deuteronomy 7:22. God reiterated that His people would have a part to play in driving out the enemies they would encounter along the way. These two verses show me that not only will God drive back the darkness, but we also have a part to play removing darkness from our midst.
The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 3:12, “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers.”
James 5:16 says, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” I love how the Amplified Bible translates it; The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
Intercessors across the nation have been praying heartfelt, continuous prayers and we are beginning to see the manifestation of the tremendous power that type of intercession brings forth. For this reason, we must keep praying. We cannot stop now. It is making a difference. More and more people are beginning to see what is really happening in our world.
People are turning away from what was once mainstream media and are turning, instead to programs like Flash Point. People are seeking truth – real truth. This is all happening because of those who are crying out to God. God’s ears are open to our prayers. He hears us, and He is responding…our job is to continue to take the land, little by little. Day by day. Month after month.
As we search through the pages of the Bible, we see the awesome results of prayer. These are not just words on a page – they are the manifested power of God. They are the answers to heartfelt prayers of God’s people. He is the same God, yesterday, today, and forever. He hears our prayers today and He is answering. Can you see it? If not, ask Him to open your eyes and allow you to see all He is doing – and whatever you do – don’t stop praying.
Appoint My Days
I will do everything without complaining and arguing so that no one can criticize me. I live clean and innocent as a child of God, shining like a bright light in a world full of crooked and perverse people. I hold firmly to the word of Life.
