I know I have written many times on worship and rain in the past, I don’t mean to be redundant but worship is connected to our harvest just as praise is. And that is what I want to share with you today.
Jeremiah 5:24 says; Let us now fear the Lord our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
I want you to take note of a few things in this verse of scriptures. First of all, it is the Lord, our God who gives rain. It comes from him.
This scripture also says he reserves an appointed time for our harvest – just as I taught on an appointed time for healing, I find that the word of God says that there is a time appointed by God, for harvest. And that it is for weeks…not months…but weeks. Harvest is a short season and we don’t want to miss it. It is our appointed time for harvest, I believe that and I desire to see each and every one of you receiving the fullness of your harvest THIS harvest season. I realize another season will come around, but I want to see you receive the fullness of your harvest season NOW in this appointed season, don’t you?
With that being said, I don’t know anything worse than having your seed in the ground and knowing harvest time is upon you and suddenly there is no rain. I have seen this happen to my aunt and uncle over and over again. Times of drought can stop a harvest. Times of drought have stopped harvest.
However, we serve a God who gives rain. Just as we read in Jeremiah 5:24; our God gives rain. Now, let me share another insight about worship. Worship brings rain.
Jeremiah 14:17 says; “And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain.”
If you have been with our ministry for a few years, you already know this. This is something the Lord showed me a few years ago when I was going through a dry season in my life. If there is no worship, there will be no rain.
If you are dry or your ground is dry, there will be no harvest. But we have a God who gives rain. And He gives rain when we worship. It also works the other way – if we refuse to worship, he will withhold rain.
So….our seeds are in the ground and we are not seeing rain, our ground is becoming dry and cracked. What do we do? We worship God! We worship God and He is faithful to bring the rain in the appointed season just as the word of God says he will.
On those who worship God there will be rain. Where there is rain, there will be harvest. Your worship is connected to your harvest.
Another scripture I love says this; worship God if you want his best, worship opens doors to all his goodness. Psalm 34:9 The Message Bible “I want the best harvest available; worship opens the door to that.”
Now, we all know that we worship God simply because he is God, for no other reason, not to gain something, however I did want you to understand what a life of worship produces; it produces rain on our seed and it opens the door to Gods best. I have seen it happen over and over again. Therefore I urge you to cultivate a life of worship. Worship God!
